Yates Automotive was founded by John Yates in 1964 and has served the city of Alexandria without interruption ever since. John believed there was no better way to raise a family than working in one, and over the years the Yates family ran service stations, parts stores and more across the city.
In 1987 his youngest son Jason bought the Braddock Road station and has spent nearly forty years building the business with his wife, Loren. Their son Jason Jr., a University of Virginia graduate, now works in the family business too, the third generation on the corner.
Today Yates is one of a handful of AAA-approved repair shops in Alexandria, staffed by ASE Master Technicians, and recognized with the Angie's List Super Service Award, a Living Legends of Alexandria honor, and a shelf of neighborhood favorite awards.
